In the mid 90's it became popular for teenagers to dip their heads into dishes of saturated aluminum citrate solutions to augment their hairstyles and general appearance. Many suffered from a toxic level of aluminum citrate buildup and begin to exhibit strange capacitance and charge storage behavior. This apparent electrical instability triggered endorphins in the brain and led to compulsive behavior, i.e. soaking one's head in aluminum citrate.
